Hymn Festival
Celebration of Hymns for the Church Year

November 21, 2026, 1:30pm
St. Patrick - St. Anthony Church, Hartford

Join in singing some of the great hymns of the church!

A mass choir of singers from churches throughout the Greater Hartford community will lead a program of hymns for the church year, beginning with Advent and ending with Pentecost. Hymns include Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, The King of Love My Shepherd Is, and Jesus Christ is Risen Today.

Accompanying the hymns will be a brass quintet, timpani, and the church’s two pipe organs. Along with the choir and the audience, a glorious sound will be heard in the resonant acoustics of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church.

The Festival will be conducted by composer, church musician, conductor and organist Richard Webster.

Richard Webster is currently Lecturer in the Institute of Sacred Music (ISM) at Yale University. He retired in 2022 as Director of Music and Organist at Trinity Church, Copley Square, Boston after 17 years. Sought after as a choral clinician, he has led choir courses and workshops across the U.S., South Africa and New Zealand. He is an honorary Fellow of the Royal School of Church Music (FRSCM), and holds the Doctor of Music degree, honoris causa, from the University of the South at Sewanee. His arrangements of hymns for brass and timpani have been widely used and recorded, and he has led hymn festivals throughout the U.S.

The concert is free and no tickets are required. Come lend your voice!
