St. John's Episcopal Church - Vernon, CT

Music Minister - Part time (10 hours a week)

The music minister will be responsible for leading the music at our weekly 10:00am Eucharist and other High Holy Days.  The minister needs to be proficient in the organ and experienced in accompanying congregational hymn singing.  The church has a small choir that rehearses on Sunday mornings before worship.  The minister will direct and choose the weekly, or biweekly, choir anthems.  The music minister will accompany the choir on organ/piano as appropriate.  We are seeking a professional who can support the choir as we rebuild after the pandemic.  We also seek a minister interested in lifting up and supporting the congregation’s musical talent.  St. John’s mostly sings traditional hymns but is open to be guided by the talent and background of its music minister.  The minster will assist with funerals or weddings as needed for additional compensation.

Salary: $22,800 per year.
