Trinity Episcopal Church - Newtown, CT
Organist
Trinity Episcopal Church, located in the heart of Newtown, CT is seeking an organist to play up
to three Sundays per month through mid-June. Trinity’s organ is a wonderful Austin pipe organ (1981) with 43 ranks, 2,369 pipes and two manuals (though it’s more like three manuals in two). With the incredible acoustics of the Trinity sanctuary, many concerts and recitals are hosted in the space, and organists have truly enjoyed playing this magnificent and powerful instrument.
There is one service on Sundays at 9:30am. The organist will play a prelude and postlude of
his or her choosing, accompany the congregation and choir on the hymns and Episcopal

Offertory or a soloist for Communion. The Minister of Music will supply hymn selections one
week in advance and choral selections as soon as they are programmed. Flexible and ample
practice time on the organ is also a perk!
Ideally, we would have one organist with whom we would collaborate throughout the academic
year, but we are open to occasional appearances too. (Note that Easter Holy Week has already
been booked with another organist).
Pay is $150 per service.
