SUBSTITUTE LIST
The GHAGO Substitute List is provided as a service to organizations looking to contract independent organists and/or choir directors. Any GHAGO member in good standing is eligible to be included on this list, upon their own request.
Employers are strongly encouraged to request references and/or representative recordings before contracting a particular musician. Inclusion on this list does not represent any particular level of proficiency. The information provided by those on the sub list has not been confirmed by GHAGO nor is GHAGO able to ensure that any individual is appropriate for any particular situation.

Faith Lutheran Church - Bristol, CT
Church Musician
Requirements:

The musician must above all have a heart for the church, the ability to relate positively to a wide variety of people in a sensitive and caring manner, be able to manage details efficiently, and be self-motivated and able to follow through on assigned tasks. The musician should seek to support and encourage the congregation in its music and worship.

The musician should have proficient organ and piano skills and be able to lead the congregation in their songs. The musician should have a working knowledge of a variety of sacred music including contemporary music.
Responsibilities:
To lead the music program of Faith Lutheran Church, the musician will work to enhance and enrich the worship experience for all participants. Duties include but are not limited to:

Providing instrumental accompaniment (ex. piano or organ) for regular and special worship services. They include: one Sunday service per week; evening services Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve.

Directing the adult voice choir & handbell choir from September through May and rehearsing with each as necessary.

In collaboration with the Worship Planning Team, assisting in the selection of liturgical settings, hymns and songs.

Working collaboratively with members who play instruments and including musical soloists or groups.

Serving on the Worship Planning Team and attending meetings.

Assisting with copyright licensing for print and streaming in conjunction with the Worship Planning Team.

The musician will work an average of 10-15 hours per week.
Compensation: $20,000-$24,000
